Expect Better Bite After Front
The bite continues to be strong this past week and with the approaching cold front this week it will only get better. The bait continues to be located on the flats and backwaters of New Smyrna Beach which has made a great location for the trout and redfish to hang out.
Kayak Fishing: Better Fishing at Stick Marsh
o a few weeks ago I went out to the Stick Marsh, my first time since the drawdown, and it was a bit of a struggle. I didn’t catch many fish, and the ones I did catch were small. I wanted to go back out before I made any rash comments or assumptions about the effects of the drawdown, and I am glad I did, because I had a good outing there this weekend.
Lots of Fresh Water in Lagooon
Another extremely windy and rainy week but there were places to hide out of the wind. Beach action was non existent with the heavy winds and weather.
Sand Fleas Abundant on the Beach
Hope everyone stayed dry this past week with the horrible weather, but this week ahead of us will get back to normal. The surf is going to start lying back down this week and get smaller and smaller closer to the weekend.
Inlet Fishing Marred by Poor Weather
The report for this week is not a good one, due to the bad weather all last week. Fishing at the inlet was a disaster. The winds and the wave action last week made it treacherous to fish either jetty and the rock shoreline on the north side.
