My name is Knox Robinson. I live in Melbourne with my wife Jessica, and our two boys - Seven, and Rix. I love to kayak fish all across Central Florida! I fish out of a Hobie Outback Mirage from Kayaks by Bo. Follow me on instagram where I post regular fishing content, my handle is @spacefish_kayakangler. Thanks for reading my reports here on Spacef

Picture yourself on a boat on a river. Just like John Lennon famously sang, just try and do it without psychedelics. Well, I guess you can. You’re an adult, and I’m not here to judge. Regardless, picture yourself in a boat on a river. That river is actually a creek, and there are overhanging trees casting large shadows everywhere.
Today, I am going to write about a trip last weekend in which I fished, but put more of my focus in exploration. There are several reasons that I chose to spend a day doing more exploration. Honestly, it is something that I need to do more often.
With the high winds, bluebird skies, and weird temperature fluctuations – my confidence has not been super high when gearing up to fish – so I decided to make a trip to Crane Creek, and explore some areas that I haven’t been to before and do my best to catch a Tarpon.
I would imagine that quite a few people reading this are like me. You have a full-time job that doesn’t involve fishing, you have a spouse, children, and other life things that can come in between you and time on the water. One of the best things about having a kayak is that you can load it in the back of a truck or on top of a bigger car/SUV, and you can hit the water pretty quickly. So, I am going to talk today about my recent after-school trips and hopefully provide you with ideas for after-work mini-trips.
In lieu of not fishing this weekend, and having Grant-Valkaria on my mind, I want to talk about some spoil island tactics that have served me well in the past, and talk a little bit about the seafood festival…
During this time of year fishing Central Florida, we’re going up against three factors that can make or break an outing: wind, temperature, and barometric pressure.
This past Friday Valentine’s Day, February 14th. This date marks a special anniversary of sorts for me, as this was the day my family and I moved to Melbourne in 2020. Weirdly enough that date was also on a Friday that year.
Today I am going to give a report on a really awesome fishing trip I went on last week, with local angling legend, and outdoor writer extraordinaire, Paul MacInnis. For me, on a personal level, this fishing trip was pretty special. Here are 3 reasons.
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I got a chance to scratch a new species off the bucket list, the American Shad. I am going to write about that next week, because I have been putting off reviewing my new kayak.
One of the Bass I caught from the cove on the NW corner of Poinsett near the SJR Channel.
Hopefully this will be the first of many kayak Bass trips we get to take together. And yes, I did give her a hard time for the using the grippers on a small Bass.
There are a ton of Lily Pads on Lake Osceola, the Frog bite was really good when we were there this past weekend.
A trip south to Lake Ida is not just about Peacock's, it's a great place to catch Largemouth too!
I went back to Fox Lake Saturday, here are 3 of the species I caught Saturday afternoon.
The Bass fishing on the freshwater side took the cake, but this was my most exciting inshore catch on the Eau Gallie River this weekend. I have not caught very many of these guys in […]
While this is certainly not anything to brag about in the size category, I thought this fish was really cool looking in how dark it was. I know that Largemouth Bass are known as Black […]
My boys and I had a blast last night at Wickham Park. We caught 4 StumpKnockers in roughly an hour of fishing. Each one we landed brought tons of joy and excitement.
I caught this on my last inshore trip on the 4th. It was in the shallows off the mangroves close to the radio tower in Downtown Melbourne.
I caught this on my last inshore trip back on the 4th. The warmer weather led to a much better bite.
