No More Drought!
I would have to say that we are no longer in drought conditions here in Central Florida, it has rained every day for the past week. Although with the influx of water in the Mosquito Lagoon it has not affected the bite at all.

I can not believe that it is already the end of August it feels as though this summer is just flying by. The fish are continuing ti chew well and the water clarity is still looking good for this time of year.
It looks like the short time of dryer air has came to a halt as the forecast is calling for afternoon showers for the rest of the week.
August has been a hot one both weather and bite. We are starting to get an influx of mullet moving off the beach and inshore which has been setting off some good bites.
We managed to dodge Hurricane Debby over here on the East Coast of Florida, but with that being said our thoughts and prayers are with our friends on the West Coast.
Things are really heating up on the water here in the New Smyrna Beach area. We have been targeting several different species throughout the backwaters.
The temperature’s this past week have been hot to say the least reaching mid 90’s and feeling well over a hundred but with that being said that bite has been fire early morning to mid morning. We have had plenty of bait covering the shallow flats of Mosquito Lagoon along with the back waters of New Smyrna Beach.
Unlike the weather here in Central Florida the bite continues to stay consistently good. We have been starting early and finishing by mid morning to beat the heat and storms that have been hitting us all week.
The summer time weather pattern is in full effect here in Central Florida with really hot days and late afternoon thunderstorms. With this pattern sitting in it has fired up the bite again with stirring things up in the backwaters of New Smyrna Beach.
New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon have been heating up with some great fishing this past week. We have had multiple boat slams come boat side with trout, redfish and snook.
