Strong Post-front Bite
Looks as though we are getting another blast of arctic air moving into the New Smyrna Beach area this week.

It seems as though Mother Nature just keeps sending us some weather like a gift that just keeps giving. The fishing has been holding strong through all these fronts and if you get out a couple days after the front on the low winds and warm up the bite is even better.
The bite has changed a little bit over the last couple of days. We have some pretty cool water temperatures here in the New Smyrna Beach waters especially in the shallow water of Mosquito Lagoon.
It’s hard to believe that we are now in 2025, but with being said the 2024 fishing year was very good and I expect the same for this year. This past week has been a continuation of weird weather with warmer conditions, rain, wind and cloudy.
The inconsistent weather continues here in Central Florida with cool temperatures and wind to clouds and rain. But even with some crazy weather lately the bite still continues to be good.
There has been a little low pressure rising up from the Caribbean this past week bring us some wet and windy weather but it did seem to faze the bite. We are continuing to boat several species like trout, redfish, snook and black drum making for a great time on the water.
As the weather consistently keeps changing from hot to cold the fish have settled into their winter time pattern. Look for the redfish, trout and black drum to holding in and around the sand holes and mud bottoms.
We have had some back to back cold fronts dipping down into Central Florida the past couple of weeks bringing cooler air temps along with water temps. The fish have really started to move into their winter time patterns looking for warmer water conditions.
Then water level has been this past week due to some easterly winds and full moon tide swing. The bite was still steady while focusing on the areas that were holding bait worked the best.
Here we are into mid November and still with highs near 90 and the possibility of a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico.
