Coolest Temperatures Amp Back Up Mullet Run
The cooler water temperatures this week have increased the mullet run back to a fairly steady flow along the coast line. This is bringing us a new “wave” of fish along the beaches.

Hey y'all, what's happening? It's been a solid two weeks since I last penned down a report, thanks to the wild wind and crazy weather acting up. But guess what? I'm back with the latest on surf fishing.
Against Mullet Creek Proposal
It was a busy week for me. I attended a meeting that FWC and the St. Johns Water Management gave. They are proposing to do a wetland restoration on the Mullet Creek canal system.
Fishing Picks Up at the Inlet
For the most part, last week picked up pretty nicely for Monday through Wednesday with a lot of finger mullet coming down the beach again, and filling the inlet, both sides. This in turn with the winds and seas calming back down some, and the water staying on the cool side got the bluefish, jacks, ladyfish and a bunch of "jumbo" spanish mackerel turned on and biting!
Success in the Weather Window
The Ocean Obsession (OO) out of Sunrise Marina at Port Canaveral took full advantage of this past week's weather window to get out and put their customers on the fish.
Great 4 Days Offshore
What a great 4 days we had to fish! Awesome trips each day. Mahi are trickling into the reefs. Kings are firing and we are seeing the tripletail and cobia showing up nicely.
Nice Weather and Good Fishing
While the beginning of the week was windy and rough, the weather turned mid week and got beautiful on the lagoon and nearshore.
Great Red Fishing in Mosquito Lagoon
The red fishing has been great this past week! Our top baits have been paddle tails, finger mullet and the good old classic cut mullet.
Bait Remains Plentiful in Mosquito Lagoon
As we move into Fall the fish are starting to change their patterns a bit. Look for them holding in the sand holes and mud bottoms early then moving up on the shallow grass as the day starts to warm.
