Black Drum Bite Still Good
The black drum bite has continued to be very good. Tarpon are starting to show up in the inlet and the big news of the day is cobia along the beach.

The black drum bite has continued to be very good. Tarpon are starting to show up in the inlet and the big news of the day is cobia along the beach.
With the warmer water and Mullett school starting to arrive the top order bite is turning on as well as a few tarpon are starting to show up here and there.
With this past week’s warm weather, the spring pattern is starting to emerge and the topwater bite for trout is where it’s at. Redfish schools are starting to break up and cruise shorelines looking for food as well so you can target both effectively.
This week the lane snapper and mangrove snapper bite has been incredible! Black drum are starting to break up a little bit, but the upcoming cold front should bring the schools back together.
Despite the crazy weather, the past week has been very good. We had success both inshore and offshore with good catches of black drum and redfish inshore and offshore we landed some really nice lane snapper and mangrove snapper.
Fishing has been great this past week despite the crazy winds we’ve had good schools of black drum and redfish continuing to stay together with the best bite coming on a jig head tipped with a medium size shrimp.
Big schools of black drum were what was on the menu for this past week of fishing with light wind and clear water. The black drum are feeding heavily and just about anything.
Fishing has been great this past week with blue skies and large schools of fish. We are catching black drum, redfish, trout and mangrove snapper with a few snook mixed in.
The black drum fishing this past week has been on fire with calm winds and big schools of fish. A jig head tipped with shrimp has been the easiest and most effective way to catch these fish.
The schools of redfish and black drum have moved up into the shallow flats on sunny days and are crushing a live shrimp on a naked hook, or live shrimp on a jig head on the windier days.

Memphis and his dad, Chris, had a fun day fishing the Mosquito Lagoon with Capt. Mike Mann. This black drum is one of a bunch of fish that they caught, including some nice reds, sheepsheads, and seatrout.
