Artificial Bite Heating Up with Water Temps
The water is warming up and so is the artificial bite. With the water temps hitting the low 80s by mid day it’s time to start draggin’ Bass Assassin RSB worms (Gooseberry, Plum Apple and Junebug Red) in deeper water or deeper canals.
Good Bite Despite Wind
Inshore bite and inlet bite was good all week despite the wind. Plenty of snook at the inlet with a bunch of jacks and a few redfish as well. The flats at the inlet were also busy with a bunch of bluefish some mackerel, ladyfish, jacks and the occasional pompano.
Low Waters @ Headwaters & 3 Forks
Windy conditions still plague our fishing adventures and this next week’s forecast doesn’t look much brighter. Headwaters is still the place for numbers of bass to be caught on artificial lures. The big fish are still very picky on their choosing and a wild shiner just might give an opportunity for a Personal Best catch.
More Windy Days Ahead
We had a pretty decent week on the few fishable days. Just goes to show the fish are there when we can get out. If you haven't looked at the offshore forecast yet -- don't -- it's pretty sad.
Hiding from the Wind
It’s been a little bit windy this past week here on the Space Coast, so our options were to hide from the wind and fish along leeward edges of our coastal lagoons. Fishing near mangrove covered shorelines can be challenging for novice anglers, so here are a few of the things that I look for when we’re trying to put my fishing charter clients on a good bite.
Kayak Fishing Report: Winter Park Chain of Lakes
My wife and I had the day off from school on Friday, our kids stayed with their grandparents so we decided to get up early and go fish and paddle somewhere that has been on our list to go check out for some time, the Winter Park Chain of Lakes. From our house it was roughly an hour drive, but for those living on the north end of Brevard County/Space Coast it is probably closer to 45ish minutes.
Cobia
My wife and I had a fun day out at 8A yesterday. Conditions were a little bit rougher then we are used to but we took it slow and safe and got out there. Bottom bite started out okay but then the sharks showed up and the bite stopped. On [...]
Surf Conditions Look to Remain Consistent
What's going on everybody it’s Rio over here at Eastside Surf fishing. Quick report for this week -- surf Fishing conditions look to remain consistent. We’ve been casting at Pompano, Whiting, and lots of sharks out in the surf.
Nice Week Offshore!
What a nice week we finally had! Mother nature gave us a few solid days offshore to do what it is we do. And boy oh boy did we get into it. Solid runs to the reef and back for all the amazing king mack maniacs out there.
Grocery Trips on the OO
The captain and crew of the Ocean Obsession out of Sunrise Marina in Port Canaveral are at it again, putting their customers on "The Meat." With the weather looking good this week, make sure you book your next trip to go catch some dinner!
Drum & Trout Bite Solid In Lagoons
This past week brought a lot of windy days for us so we didn’t fish the near-coastal waters at all. The Indian and Banana River lagoons were full of speckled trout and black drum though.
Windy but Productive Days
Got one day on the water last week. Spring this year has given us some rather windy days, but the bite on Headwaters is still good using only artificial lures. We started our day with a surprising gift while running to our first spot to fish. Not far from takeoff we came up to an area that had some schooling bass activity going on.
