My wife and I had a fun day out at 8A yesterday. Conditions were a little bit rougher then we are used to but we took it slow and safe and got out there. Bottom bite started out okay but then the sharks showed up and the bite stopped. On the plus side, they brought a boat load of Cobia with them. My question is, how does anybody get them in the boat?! We hooked a few but reeling them in was just too hard for my wife. Those guys are strong! I took over but then netting them was a problem. I didn’t want to gaff them since I was afraid they would be under size. Sure enough, the two that we did get into the boat were only 30 and 26 inches. Still a fun battle but it would have been nice to bring dinner home. One side note, the biggest one we hooked went from being a shark’s companion to his lunch in about 2 seconds. Always something new to learn!
