No Offshore Last Week
Not too much to talk about this week. Fishing offshore never happened for us. I'm sure we could have gone a day but it just was not worth it. We ran a few trips nearshore instead.
Schooled Up Sight Fishing
The fish have schooled up with the cooler temperatures we've had which makes sight fishing these schools a blast! The cooler temps have created extremely crystal clear water which makes the fish a little spooky so use extreme stealth.
Crazy Weather Continues
We have had a little crazy weather pattern to start the new year and looks like it could continue into next week. Even with the crazy weather the fish have not stopped chewing as a matter of fact they have been very happy.
Weekend Report
Get the latest word on the bite with Damon from Spacefish on the Mark Moses Show. We talk local fishing every Friday on the air at 4pm.
Cool Water Temps Make Black Drum Top Target
The weather has been nothing short of sucky for the past three weeks, but through perseverance and determination we have been finding our customers something to pull on.
Kayak Fishing: Navigating Wacky Winter Weather in Central Florida
This week instead of talking about a "spot" to kayak fish, I am going to talk about how to navigate through, and catch fish during the wacky wintertime weather patterns that we have been getting. Let’s dive in!
New Year, Same Patterns!
One thing that never changes much is seasonal patterns. New year, new moon, new anything, most fish and animals in general will stick to their same patterns noted throughout the years. However, sometimes it may be off by a warming trend, a cooling trend or small variables which set these patterns off by days or even a few weeks.
Spawn Activity Yet to Explode
I finally got to go fishing last week. It was still not the warmest day but way better than most of the crazy weather we have been dealing with. My plan was to hit up my favorite lake, Garcia, and hope for a bite or two.
It’s Called Fishing Not Catching
Hope everyone has been fishing at least once this week because the bite has been sporadic. Rising tides and high tides have been producing the best bites in Cape Canaveral through South Patrick beaches.
Able to Get off the Beach
Finally a little break from the wind last week allowed us to get off the beach and enjoy some calm weather. Plenty of mackerel and bluefish wiith a few pompano in the mix and the Blacktip sharks feeding on the mackerel and jacks.
Unsettled Water @ Inlet
Good morning all you Sebastian Inlet fishing lovers, I hope everyone had a great weekend despite the weather! Here we go with our report for the week. For the most part this report is going to be a "rinse and repeat" of last week's.
The big girls are chewing now!
The live bait bite is on fire. Grass edges near deep water is the key. The bigger the shiner the bigger the fish. Lots of big females full of eggs are being caught right now.
