Party On!
The Ocean Obsession (OO) had their customers on the fish again this week with some fantastic catches of lane snapper, mangrove snapper, triggerfish, cobia and a number of other hard fighting, good eating fish.
Snapper and Cobia Offshore
Offshore fishing has been very good for the last week or so with great catches of lane snapper, mangrove snapper, red snapper and a few nice vermilion mixed in. Cobia are starting to show up following rays and bait fish are starting to make their way up. The beach tarpon should not be far behind.
Steady Eating Pattern in the Mosquito Lagoon
The weather and the fishing have been really good this past week in the Mosquito Lagoon. Looking at the extended forecast there really is no deviation from the current weather pattern allowing these fish to get set into a steady eating pattern.
Kayak Fishing Report: Over the Dam – Eau Gallie River
I fished Saturday on the Eau Gallie River, and to say the least it was a pretty wild day. I had an absolute ball, covered miles of the river, went over the dam and fished the freshwater side, and ended up catching 22 total fish from 7 different species.
Pompano Fishing Continues!
Hey, what’s going on everybody? It's Rio from Eastside Surf Fishing. Pompano fishing continues as the weather remains good for these fish. We had a little bit of a bump last week with the blow/swell but the conditions look great for Pompano fishing this week Pompano we’re going to be looking for live, sand, fleas, live shrimp or life clams. However, if you can’t get your hands on these baits, it’s not a bad idea to try frozen.
Warm Weather & Light Winds
Warm weather is here for the week as are some light winds out of the west most of the week. Good time to get offshore and nearshore. With the warmer temps the cobia should be offshore as well as Snapper and Kingfish.
The Bigs Are CHEWING!
The bigs are chewing. Several big fish caught this week. The most productive baits we threw this week were a Bass Assassin Vapor Shad (Panhandle Moon), Jackhamer 1/2oz Golden Shiner, Black and Blue Boneshaker and a Bass Assassin RSB worm (Redbug).
Taking Home Groceries on the Party Boat
The Ocean Obsession(OO) out of Sunrise Marina in Port Canaveral has had their custom on "The Meat" and it looks like it should continue this week with some decent weather ahead. Everything from lane and mangrove snapper to cobia and triggerfish have come over the rail and into the pail!
One Good Fishable Day Offshore
What a day and yes, just one single day this week was fishable. The rest of the week wasn't worth making that offshore trip at all. It would've been a one way trip... 25-30 knots out of the east is no fun.
Good Sightfishing Weather
The weather has been cooperating for the most part this past week making for some great sightfishing . My clients have been boating great numbers of both redfish and black drum out of several different large schools throughout the backwaters of New Smyrna Beach.
Inshore Fishing Heating Up!
Inshore fishing on the Space Coast is heating up! The bite for bull reds and big black drum bite couldn’t be better!
Garcia & 3 Forks
Lake Garcia was pretty busy last week with a full parking lot and also a few Pros fishing it, as well. Overall, the bite was very disappointing. I’m not a person that likes to flip and I think that is what it took to have a better bite. They also have done some spraying on the lake, as well.
