Headwaters Lake Kayak Fishing
I was able to get out on Sunday morning and fish for a few hours at Headwaters Lake. I have recently had two inquiries about fishing in this area, so this seemed like a timely report to come out with!
Freshwater Soon Awaits
Last week's bite on the lagoon was good, we caught a bunch of trout. We did manage a few smaller snook too. My deeper areas of water gave up some really nice bluefish eating our topwater lures until the tide went slack.
Staying Inshore, Water Remains Dirty
Fished inshore this week again and the water is still very dirty. However there is plenty of bait up in the coves and along teh shorelines with Snook, Redfish, trout, jacks and ladyfish feeding on the bait pods.
Lake Headwaters Temps Cooling
The lake is cooling down this week (77 degrees) and the fishing is getting better by the day.
Not A Bad Week Offshore
Not a bad week at all. Captain Arron ventured offshore and produced nicely with a variety. Kings, cobia, reds and much more.

Port Canaveral Offshore – October

Good Fishing Inshore This Week
Fishing has been great this past week. We've got lots of tarpon, redfish and trout working the bait schools.
Cooler Dryer Air, High Water Levels
We have had a little change in the weather over the past few days with some cooler dryer air moving in. With this cooler dryer air has brought a North / Northeast wind that has continued to raise the water levels in the New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon area.
