Backwater Bassin’ – Crane Creek/Turkey Creek
Picture yourself on a boat on a river. Just like John Lennon famously sang, just try and do it without psychedelics. Well, I guess you can. You’re an adult, and I’m not here to judge. Regardless, picture yourself in a boat on a river. That river is actually a creek, and there are overhanging trees casting large shadows everywhere.
This Week’s Report
Another windy week has come and gone, but relief is on the horizon. With slightly calmer winds expected this week, we'll be able to get back on the water and wear the fish out.
Dirty Water on the beach
I hope everyone is doing well and had a good week of fishing. The beachside has been dirty due to the southeast winds, but this week, the winds are expected to shift to north-west most days. Fishing has been pretty slow, with not much consistent action.
Dismal Fishing @ Inlet
Hello there all you Sebastian Inlet fans! I hope everyone enjoyed the great weekend we had. Fishing wasn't very good at the inlet, dismal at best! So this report will be a brief one.
Better Freshwater Fishing This Week
Last week's fishing was so much better than weeks before. Our lake water temperatures are creeping into the high 70’s to almost the 80 degree range.
Just Shark Fishing
We never made it offshore last week so all we’ve been doing is shark fishing. The winds haven’t been that favorable and honestly offshore is not that great right now so we just been making the best of it along the beach and the shark fishing has been insane.
Windy Spring so far!
We’ve had a windy spring so far and this last week was no exception with 15-25 mph winds all week. The only positive was that the winds were out of the south and east and the water temps were good.
Bass Fishing Report
The water temp was 77 degrees when we started this morning and 80 when we finished up. Top baits this week for me were Jackhammer chatterbaits, Bass Assassin RSB worms and the Mike Bucca Bull Shad 6” Trick Shad.
Black Drum Still Here in Good Numbers
Black drum are still around in good numbers and the flats are starting to load up with mullet, which will be turning the top water bite on over the next few weeks.
Full Board Showing
The Ocean Obsession fishing out of Sunrise Marina at Port Canaveral showed out with a full board of all kinds of different fish.
Who Left the Fan On?
It seems as though someone has forgot to turn off the fan here in the New Smyrna Beach area with gusty winds the last five days.
Offshore Port Canaveral
We are going to start providing a quick video fishing report that will touch on fishing for our customers and fishing for the locals with their own boats.
