Inshore Kayak Fishing – High Percentage Areas
Now this week, I am doing a slight shift in focus, and instead of focusign on a particular launch spot, focusing on choosing high percentage areas to go inshore fishing.
Snook in “Transition” Mode
It's the first week of March and we are headed into our "spring time" weather, finally. The water has been warming up quite a bit the last few days, up to 67 degrees from the low 60's we have had over the last several weeks. The fishing hasn't picked up very much from last week, but they are catching some pretty nice fish around the inlet. You just have to be there when they decide to play.
Think Like a Fish
The brutality of slow fishing has abated, and we have returned to cold water fishing. This past week proved to be more promising than the week before. We had to change a few techniques to secure the good bites, but overall, it wasn't a horrible week for most.
Spring is in the Air!
Spring is in the air and the temps are finally climbing! We have had a pretty consistent cool winter here on the Space Coast. With fishing between fronts being challenging at times and brutally windy, consistency is on the way!
Inshore Bite Improving
The inshore bite is improving as the weather has warmed a bit but the winds are still relentless. Starting to find some Trout that are hungry as well as some snook, the bluefish and jacks are still consistent.
Crushing it Offshore
Crushed it yesterday on our full day trip. Over 20 mangrove snappers, about 100 lane snapper some trigger fish and other species.
Staying Positive, Mostly
We were fortunate to have a nice day out again this week. Two days this year is better than one day! Be positive. Capt. Joe put a hurting on the bottom with some good eaters.
Spawning Times Ahead!
Things are going to happen and it’s going to be for the better for us anglers whether you’re on the Lagoon or your favorite lake cuz "Spring is in the Air."
April Tuna Trips!
April is almost here and that means it is tuna time. We are limiting ourselves to 20 trips this season April through July so give us a call to make sure you get scheduled. 321-794-3474.
Great Fishing Despite Crazy Winds
Fishing has been great this past week despite the crazy winds we’ve had good schools of black drum and redfish continuing to stay together with the best bite coming on a jig head tipped with a medium size shrimp.
Good Fishing with a Mixed Bag of Species
It seems as though we have finally hit a plateau of some nice weather for this upcoming week here in New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon.
Dirty Surf
All throughout the space coast the water clarity is really dirty and there's a strong swell going on.
