Fort Pierce Inlet & Jetty
With gear rigged and the livewell full of pilchards and threadfins we made our way to the mouth of the inlet. Boat traffic was so active that David could barely stand on his recently replaced knee. We left the channel edges and concentrated on the jetty fish.
Good Fishing Offshore in May
May is probably the most cooperative month we have for all the species we have to target out of Canaveral. In this report I am going to go through the game plan for a successful trip and what species are hot like a typical report and for those who want to read more, I will lay out some issues and shed a little light on the challenges we face these days with offshore fishing.
Fishable Ocean Produces BIG!
OH MAN, what a week and I'm finally excited to talk about fishing once again. The wind has gone and the ocean is now fishable. She showed us her plentiful bounty all week long.
Clear & Clean Water Inshore
Inshore fishing is still good with clear water for sight fishing. Snook, Trout, Redfish and jacks are the species we can sight fish with the clean water.
Topwater Time
It’s Topwater Time on our waters. It’s getting hotter by the days so now it’s early on and early off for the fishing times for me. Garcia is still producing good fish to be caught.
“Unsettled” Week Ahead
Fishing in and around the inlet las week was pretty good for the start of the week while the water was cleaner and before all the sargassum seaweed showed up AND all the what I and others call "snot weed" started coming out of the ICW on the outgoing tide all week from Thursday on.
All About the Tarpon
Well, this week has been all about the tarpon with over 20 tarpon caught in the last four days. They are here and they are eating.

Conducive Weather Boosts Bite
The weather has been awesome this past week with highs in the mid 80’s and clear skies. The fishing continues to be good throughout the New Smyrna Beach waters along with Mosquito Lagoon.
Morning Seaweed
Went to beach around Pineda area 7am today and a ton of seaweed was all around. Dirty surf once again. I guess inlets will be the way to go for now.
Lake Gentry Kayak Fishing
This past weekend I jumped onto the southernmost lake on what is called the “Alligator” chain of lakes. This chain stretches from South to North, across 192 before you get into St. Cloud. To get to my launch spot I actually took a left in Harmony, and got to drive through Orange groves and cattle farms on my way to Lake Gentry.
Windy Week, But Better Fishing Ahead At the Inlet
Last week at the inlet was shaping up to be really good after Monday's windy start. The water was cleaning up and calming down really nicely and warming up to where it should be for this time of the year, 79 degrees along the coast, and the bait fish were showing up.
