Pretty Good Nearshore
This was actually a pretty good week. Winds allowed us to fish nearshore and catch a variety of sharks and big bull red drum -- fish over 50 inches -- crazy!
Water Temps Dropped
The fish have definitely got into their winter time patterns with the recent cold fronts that have hit Central Florida over the past week. The water temps have dropped especially in the shallow water of Mosquito Lagoon forcing the fish into the pot holes and onto the mud flats looking for warmth.
“Cool Water” Fish Are Chewing @ the Inlet
Good morning all my Sebastian Inlet fishing fanatics, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, and I wish you all the best for 2024!! So here we go with the FIRST report for the new year. Fishing for the most part throughout the inlet has been pretty good due to the seas calming down from the winds being mostly in the westerly directions, and light.
Pelican Island NWR (Part II)
This week I am going to talk once again about the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge - but from a different launching point, and on the north end of this federally protected area

Taking Advantage of Weather Windows
The Ocean Obsession out of Sunrise Marina in Port Canaveral was able to take advantage of these weather windows we keep talking about last week and put their customers on some great fish.
Winds Laid down for Beach Fishing
Despite the cold weather, we had some great fishing last week. We caught a lot of those trout plenty of Pompano as well as Jack and ladyfish and plenty of big bluefish fishing around the flats and off the beach where there’s plenty of bait.
Large Whiting & Pompano in the Surf
The best bite south of the inlet has been on the outgoing tide, using fresh shrimp, and sandfleas along with electric chicken fishbites in the crab flavor.
Fired Up Fishing Nearshore
We truly had an amazing week. Although we couldn't get offshore, the nearshore fishing was absolutely Fired Up. We had a lot of cool sharks this week too. Bulls, Sandbars and tigers.
Wind didn’t blow the fish away
Long time no see, everyone. It sure has been windy the past month. I hope everyone got to fly their kites because fishing off the beach was not happening most of the time.
Crystal Waters on Mosquito Lagoon
Happy New Year to everyone! With the cooler weather, the schools of fish have come together. Schools of black drum and redfish can be found cruising the shallow flats.
