Boating A Variety of Species
The weather has been hot this past week and the fishing as well. We have been boating a variety of species like redfish, trout and snook.
Seaweed Clearing Up in the Surf
Seaweed has cleared up a lot compared to the last few weeks with our strong winds, weather looks to be hot with small swell and offshore winds for the next few days. We’ve been having success targeting fish in the early hours around sunrise and in the afternoons as it seems the fish are going deep mid day.
Jim Ross’ Secret to Bigger Biceps
Bait pods are loaded with spinner, blacktip and fine tooth sharks, plus good numbers of tarpon are mixed in with them. On Monday we went zero for four on tarpon but had three of them hooked up.

Short Morning Window for Bass
The bite has been good but over earlier on both Garcia and Headwaters this past week. The patterns are switching as well. Finding areas that have shallower waters adjacent to deeper water is the area that you want to start at.
Ketchikan, Alaska: The Ultimate Mixed Bag in the Salmon Capital of the World
Greetings from Ketchikan, Alaska! Although I love my time on the beaches of Brevard County, getting out here is certainly a welcome change of pace and scenery! I've been chartering up here every summer for the past 12 years, primarily offering guided salmon and halibut trips. Combine wondrous scenery and the insane fishing, it's an experience of dreams that I'd like to share with my fellow Floridians.
Picking Baits at Headwaters
Some days the artificial bite is tough and some days it’s not so much. One day they eat the big baits really good and the very next day you will only get a couple. Today, for instance, they didn’t eat the really big baits but I managed to catch them on everything else.
Summer Patterns… Finally!
We are finally getting into our summer patterns where we can fish off the beach with calm seas and light Westwinds. The bait is still scattered along the beach but you can find some areas that is holding plenty. There’s been some sharks Jackson, Bonito mixed in with a few tarpon around.
Great Week on Mosquito Lagoom
We’ve had a great week with some really nice redfish on artificial and cut bait. The trout bite is turning on using pigfish or croakers and should be great through the rest of the month. The tarpon continue to be abundant both on the beach and in the back waters. We are catching them on mullet and croakers inside.
