See “What Happens”
Guides often get charter requests where the client doesn't care what we target. I find it refreshing and always enjoy these trips. It's not unusual for me to start with a simple jig or spoon and see "what happens" and it gives me a few minutes to assess the clients casting abilities.
High Winds & Huge Surf @ Inlet
Good morning, Sebastian Inlet fishing fans. I hope everyone had a good weekend, despite the winds! This is another short report because the high winds and huge surf at the inlet for the last few days have made it difficult to fish some areas — especially the south jetty where it has been wet and wild! This week isn't going to be much better, until the weekend possibly.
This Weeks Report
The fishing has been absolutely on fire lately! The sheepshead bite has been particularly hot, with several catches exceeding 20 inches. As we progress deeper into the season, I expect the action to only intensify.
Weekend Report
Get the latest word on the bite with Damon from Spacefish on the Mark Moses Show. We talk local fishing every Friday on the air at 4pm.
Fish Holding Deep
As the weather consistently keeps changing from hot to cold the fish have settled into their winter time pattern. Look for the redfish, trout and black drum to holding in and around the sand holes and mud bottoms.
Fellsmere area lakes
Last week's cool front changed landscape. High winds and low temps have made mats move and hydrilla shrink back. These are new areas to target.
Rough Week Setting Up for the Surf
What’s up East Side family! We have a little bit of a rough week setting up high winds and surf this coming Wednesday 12/11 until at least Monday 12/16. Best bets to catch a fish will be finding clean water, and manageable surf.

Fantastic Snook Season
It’s been a fantastic snook season since the opening back in September. Justin and I have had our anglers land over 200 snook since the season opener.
Steady Fishing in the Surf
Fishing has been steady this past week with whiting, small batches of pompano and bluefish showing up in the first and second troughs. The water has been fairly clean, though there’s been a noticeable current pushing rigs around. Waves have been relatively calm compared to previous weeks.
Tough Conditions Ahead @ Inlet, Snook Closed for Season
Good morning, Sebastian Inlet fishing junkies. I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed the nice weather! That is going to change on Wednesday when a cold front comes through, heralding stiff breezes and big surf. If you're going to fish, get it done these next two days.
Tough Bite After Cold Blast
It was a tough bite this week after the cold blast we had both on Headwaters and the Lagoon. The freshwater bite throwing artificial lures was very slow but there have been good reports of the ones using live shiners. Water temperatures are at the 62 degree mark on both [...]
