The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is proposing new management regions for snook along with regional regulations based on the fishery status in each region.
Strong Bite in Mosquito Lagoon
The bite throughout New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon continues to be strong. We have been boating great numbers of nice trout and redfish along with snook in the mix as well.
Hot bass in Headwaters
Sun is blazing. For comfort fishermen are fishing early. Low light and clouds have helped with top to upper water levels. Fish are groupe deep and tight to cover. Moon cycle is important now and storms can coinci
Water Quality & Bait Availability Hampering Inlet Fishing
I have to start off by saying not a whole lot has changed in the past week from the week before, due mostly because of the water quality and clarity...
Port Canaveral Offshore
We are in the thick and heat of the summer. This means early morning or evening trips are going to be best.
Where’s the Yak? Pond Hopping 101
So I recently took an out of town trip. My wife, my two sons, my mom, my dad, my grandmother and I all loaded up into a big rental van and hit the road headed north to celebrate my dad’s 60th, and my nephew’s 4th birthday. My brother lives on a tobacco farm, outside of the small town of Metter, Georgia, located along I-16 between Macon and Savannah.
Lots of Bait in Grant
Had a decent week fishing the beach for tarpon, jacks, sharks and bonito. Live baits and artificial baits have been working well. Noah even got his first bonito on the fly rod.
Better Bite in Lagoon
I spent another week on the Lagoon again. For me it’s the best bite going for the time spent on the water for bites. This heat has slowed the bass bite way down unless you fish with live shiners.
Good Trout Bite on Live Baits
The trout bite this week has been very good using pigfish or croakers with the heat. The trout have moved into a little bit deeper water. Tarpon are still available on the beach as well as in the ICW. They will eat a well-placed fly or a soft plastic. If those don’t work, try a live finger mullet or a larger croaker. Offshore, the reefs are still holding good numbers of red snapper, mangrove, snapper, and lanes.
Good Fishing but Unreliable Bait
Great week and perfect conditions. See what happens with great conditions... The fish turn on and make it easy. With storms being clockwork around 3pm the three quarter days have been a great option.
Nearshore & Inshore Fishing ON FIRE!
Space Coast fishing has been on fire lately! From nearshore action slow trolling the beach tinshore tarpon fishing, but the best of it all has been catching these big trophy snook. Throughout the entire region, the snook fishing has been really, really good. Inshore, the spoil islands, mangrove shorelines and residential docks have been the top producers for these linesiders.
