Awesome Week Offshore
Awesome week. First off, the weather was perfect every day. Calm winds and a flat ocean. With those conditions the water cleans up dramatically. Everything was just perfect, even the currents were light.
Excellent Tarpon Action
It's another spectacular August for us here at Fineline Fishing charters. Tarpon action has resumed to the excellent levels that we saw last August. This is not typical for our portion of the coast, but for the last two consecutive years we’ve had the right conditions to hold these fish for extended periods in the late summertime, and the action has been fantastic.
Fishing Going Deeper
With the record heat, the fish are starting to move deeper in the lagoon. Trout should be aggressive early morning on the flats with water depths of 2 feet and deeper before moving to the deeper drop offs later in the morning.
Bite Not Affected by the Heat
There has been some extremely hot days this past week but that heat has not affected the bite one bit. I will say we have been wrapping up by mid day but that morning bite has been great.

Kayak Fishing Sebastian Inlet State Park
We are back in the yak this week talking about a place that holds Snook so big you will probably have to climb out of your kayak to properly land, revive, and release them. Let’s talk about one of the world’s most famous Snook fisheries, Sebastian Inlet!
Tricky Bite at the Inlet
Good morning all you fishing and beaching fanatics, Sebastian Inlet lovers, hope everyone had a great weekend! Here we go with the happenings of this past week at the inlet and surrounding beaches. Again, not a lot has changed from the previous week, it has actually slowed down again a bit.
Dirty Water Inshore
Fished the beach all week and got into some decent tarpon jacks and a few small sharks. Nearshore reefs for some cobia and snapper as well for Michael and his charters.
Cold Water Upwellings Starting to Show Up
With the persistent west and southwest winds we’ve seen over the past few weeks we now have some cold water upwellings that are starting to show up along the Space Coast in recent days. This is a good and bad thing for anglers looking to get out and catch some fish. The cooler waters are moving the fish around a lot.
Stick Marsh & Headwaters
Top baits for me this week were Zman Jackhammer half ounce, Mike Bucca BullGill and Trikshad, Bass Assassin RSB worms and Snagproof Smashmouth frog.
Better Late Than Never
The fishing this week was the same as the last 3 weeks. It's the summertime pattern finally (only 3 months late) get out early, catch livies and go hit the reefs. Sails, kings and even a few straggler cobia. Then make sure you're in by 230/3 or you're gonna get wet.
