Worst Winds in Years
We managed to get out two times this week. Captain Tyler did well considering the muddy and crap conditions with a nice board of triggers and red snapper. Captain Joe did a shark trip and managed a decent one for an eager young man. Then we canceled the next 15 trips due to weather once again.
Mosquito Lagoon
Fishing has been very good this week getting past the full moon. We had some north winds which caused lower and cleaner water to make site fishing good. The forecast this week has temperatures in the 40s late week which should get the redfish into a pattern of schooling as well as get trout aggressively feeding on them soft plastics and top waters. Black drum are starting to school on deep edges and can be caught using a jig head tipped with a whole shrimp.
Kayak Fishing Report: The Stick Marsh
It’s Christmas time folks! So why not go on down to the most notorious tree farm in the area? Make sure you find them in moving water, you may just find presents under these trees! So before I go into the usual stuff I report, let me tell you specifically [...]
North Mosquito Lagoon 12/7/22
Mixed bite on hard twitch baits and soft plastics. Fished 7a-noon. Never caught so many huge lady fish. The poor man’s tarpon. Also lots of trout. Several pushing 20”. Best bait today was a Rapala sub-walker. Cast a mile and very easy to stay connected when working the bait at [...]
Port during rocket launch
Good thing the rocket went off otherwise the night would have been ruined by catfish at the inlet off jetty park
Bite Still Good Around Mosquito Lagoon
The bite continues to be good throughout the Mosquito Lagoon and surrounding area waters. We have had plenty of bait scattered across the flats and along the shorelines.
Stickmarsh area on fire
Stickmarsh, Three Forks, Garcia and Kenansville have been producing alot of bigger fish. This next moon and the end of the month should produce the first spawn. Bigger fish are feeding up on shiners, gizzard shad and the spawning shad that are roaming in large schools. Artificial bite is wide [...]
Fun Week In/Near Shore
Fun week fishing inshore and off the beach. Plenty of action off the beach with Mackerel, Pompano, Bluefish, Jacks and Sharks. When the winds are down its easy to run the beach and find the schools.
Banana River Fishin
Woooo its been a hot minute. I’ve been working seven days a week, which has been nice on the ol wallet but not so much on free time for fishing =(. Also my boat was down for 3+ months for repairs (thanks Yamaha, never thought that would be the issue).
Pompano Flurry
Pompano fishing reaches the Space Coast with a flurry. At last the moment we’ve been waiting for, Florida surf fishing anglers anticipating the annual pompano migration rejoice.
Kayak Fishing Report: Lake Washington
Over the weekend I went out and fished the closest “lake” to my house, Lake Washington - which is actually not a lake at all, it is a really wide and long section of the St. John’s River. I feel kind of bad for not fishing here, especially after driving down and fishing Headwaters and the Stick Marsh several times over the summer, but I went out this weekend, explored, caught some Bass - so here we go!
Waste Of Time Offshore
We got out a few times this week, and with the wind and mud... Just a waste of time. I told customers that if they were my family I would reschedule or not go and people still wanted to give it a try. I get it. I really do. We had a few shark trips this week and couldn't get a bite.
