Headwaters Lake Kayak Fishing
I was able to get out on Sunday morning and fish for a few hours at Headwaters Lake. I have recently had two inquiries about fishing in this area, so this seemed like a timely report to come out with!

This week I fished the northern part of the Winter Park chain of lakes (Lake Nina and Lake Maitland, and also hit Headwaters Lake...
The bite has been good but over earlier on both Garcia and Headwaters this past week. The patterns are switching as well. Finding areas that have shallower waters adjacent to deeper water is the area that you want to start at.
I have been enjoying my first week off of school, and have taken advantage of the opportunity to get out and fish and explore new places/places I haven't been in over a year. I fished a new spot on the Banana River outside of Cocoa Beach, fished an early morning on the Indian River Lagoon and did some Bass fishing with my cousin Mark who is down for our family reunion. So let's dive in!
I was able to tag along with my friend again to Headwaters last week. We fished the same areas and some newer areas both days. The big bites are still not happening on artificial lures but we managed several in the 4-5 pound size which is okay by me.
How blessed are we to have one of the world's premier bass fisheries in our own backyard?!? No boat? I say no problem! This is an absolutely fantastic area to fish from a kayak or canoe!
