More Winter Weather…
More winter weather tis week heading our way. Cold temps and windy conditions early this week will slow the bite inshore but the inlet bite should still be pretty good. We've been catching pompano, bluefish and jacks on artificial and live bait has been getting it done for snook and black drum, redfish and jacks. If you can find shorelines with some depth and some bait, you should be able to find a trout bite and maybe a few redfish or snook along the mangroves.
The Spawn is ON!
Spawning is in full swing! Fish canals near spawning grounds with Bass Assassin Vapor Shads in Panhandle Moon or Watermelon Red. I rig these weightless or with a 1/8oz weight and dance it just under the surface.
One Great Day Offshore
We only got in one day this week early on, and it was as good as you can get it. We had kings, cobia and even maui wowi. The trend this year has been a firefight the few days prior to the front, if it's fishable.
Port Canaveral Offshore Forecast
February is your lucky month and we know if you put in the work, have a good game plan and are well prepared that you will for sure get lucky with the catch of a lifetime... On Valentines Day. ????
Kayak Fishing Report: Fox Lake (Titusville)
I hope everyone had an awesome week. I got out on Saturday and fished a place I have never been before, Fox Lake in Titusville. I live in Melbourne between exits 182 and 183 on I-95, so I’m situated about halfway between this lake and Stick Marsh/Headwaters, one of my New Year’s Resolutions this year was to do more fishing in the northern parts of Brevard County/Space Coast, and also to find more great places to kayak Bass fish beyond the Stick Marsh/Headwaters.
A Windy Week in Fort Pierce
It was a windy week in the Fort, but we did fish and on two of our three days out we whacked them! Heck, even on the slow day we boated nearly twenty critters.
Amazing Window Closed
The good Lord gave us a window last week that allowed a few really amazing days. We had no wind, beautiful weather, great customers and, of course, cooperating hungry fishies.
3 Forks, Garcia & Stick Marsh
Lots of fishing days last week on three different bodies of water. 3 Forks, Garcia and Stick Marsh. The first of the three is still not fishing as well as it was last year at this same time period.
Great Weather — and Fishing!
The weather and fishing couldn’t be much better right now along the lagoons and near-coastal waters here on Florida’s Space Coast. Captain Justin and I have been crushing our customers' arms on giant black drum on our recent trips.
Slow Start to Snook Season
The inshore bite last week was a little on the slow side for the opening of snook season. Rough conditions made for a tough time sight fishing early in the week while the inlet bite was a bit off as well. Most of the action came on live shrimp in the inlet as well as live greenies.
Fishing with My Boys – Special Report
After a weekend which featured an extremely windy Saturday and a damp and dreary rainy day on Sunday, I decided to switch gears from the usual kayak fishing report and cover something else, that many of you out there reading have done before, or will do in the future - which is taking small children fishing.
Phenomenal Surf Fishing Run Continues
January didn’t disappoint as the phenomenal surf fishing run continued into the second half of the month. Ideal conditions being calm seas and clean water culminated in big catches of pompano, whiting, and black drum.
