Near Coastal Grocery Shopping!
It’s been a good week for catching tasty fish here on the Space Coast. Tripletail action is back in full force and we’re putting fish on ice regularly. The area from Port Canaveral to Sebastian Inlet has the proper water temperatures to hold these fish again.
The Fish Were Chewing
This week's been an absolute dream compared to the last couple months! From Cape Canaveral down to South Melbourne, the fish action was outstanding!
Drum Schooling on Shallow Flats
The schools of redfish and black drum have moved up into the shallow flats on sunny days and are crushing a live shrimp on a naked hook, or live shrimp on a jig head on the windier days.
Warm Trend Should Keep Fish Active
It looks like we have light at the end of our crazy weather tunnel this week. We will be getting on a warm trend throughout Central Florida starting this week which will continue to make these fish active. The water clarity has been great throughout Mosquito Lagoon making for some great sight fishing.
Good Hauls Offshore When Weather Permits
Keep an eye out for the Ocean Obsession's next offshore trip. They are putting their customers on some quality fish when the weather cooperates.

Kayak Fishing
The cold weather bite has been pretty hot lately! I've been having success late mornings throwing small paddle tails in wind protected areas. I landed this 40" snook after skip casting my lure up into a mangrove pocket right next to a small point. A slow to medium speed retrieve was the ticket.
Best Black Drum Bite of the Decade
Good day all you Sebastian Inlet fans, and fishing fanatic's! I hope everyone had a great weekend despite the bad weather we had Monday. And I have to say, this week is not going to be much better!
Pompano Bite Still Rolling in the Surf!
Bountiful catches and beautiful beach days continue to comprise the winter surf fishing season for 2024. Well there have been detrimental weather windows here and there, but overall at least we’re not scraping ice from our windshields right?
Tides, Pressure, and Baits
Another week has passed, and the fishing has improved for many people. Various fish such as black drum, whiting, croakers, pompano, and jacks were being caught.
High Water and Grassy Conditions @ Headwaters
The lake is still way over regulation (21"). The main canal was wide open as of 3pm today. There is a bunch of grass (hyacinth and junk) in and around the ramps. Power through it and you’ll be fine.
Hot Action on the Beach
Was able to get out on the beach a few days last week and the action was hot. Plenty of mackerel, bluefish and jacks with some pompano closer to the beach.
