Taking Advantage of Weather Windows
The Ocean Obsession out of Sunrise Marina in Port Canaveral was able to take advantage of these weather windows we keep talking about last week and put their customers on some great fish.
Winds Laid down for Beach Fishing
Despite the cold weather, we had some great fishing last week. We caught a lot of those trout plenty of Pompano as well as Jack and ladyfish and plenty of big bluefish fishing around the flats and off the beach where there’s plenty of bait.
Large Whiting & Pompano in the Surf
The best bite south of the inlet has been on the outgoing tide, using fresh shrimp, and sandfleas along with electric chicken fishbites in the crab flavor.
Fired Up Fishing Nearshore
We truly had an amazing week. Although we couldn't get offshore, the nearshore fishing was absolutely Fired Up. We had a lot of cool sharks this week too. Bulls, Sandbars and tigers.
Wind didn’t blow the fish away
Long time no see, everyone. It sure has been windy the past month. I hope everyone got to fly their kites because fishing off the beach was not happening most of the time.
Crystal Waters on Mosquito Lagoon
Happy New Year to everyone! With the cooler weather, the schools of fish have come together. Schools of black drum and redfish can be found cruising the shallow flats.
Weekend Report
Get the latest word on the bite with Damon from Spacefish on the Mark Moses Show. We talk local fishing every Friday on the air at 4pm.

Tough Inshore Fishing
Another week of inclement weather made for some tough inshore fishing. While the trout, jacks, mackerel, snapper, Sheephead, bluefish and ladyfish weren’t too hard to catch the inshore redfish and snook bite was a bit slow for us.
Water Levels Up @ Headwaters
The lake is up 20” over regulation and there is a lot of floating vegetation pretty much everywhere. The vegetation is blocking the S canal just south of the entrance to the North Lake.
Bottom Stirred Up
All though the weather has been a little wild this past week with some wind and rain it has not effected the bite. The bite continues to be strong throughout the waters of New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon.
Time to Think Sheepshead!
With slowly declining water temperatures and winter approaching it’s time to think sheepshead. While I’ve been thinking about them for a couple of weeks now this past Tuesday was my first time targeting them this season.
