Waiting For Nicole’s Dust to Settle Offshore
What a week. I can't share any cool Capt. Joey pics since we had Nicole turn the ocean into a sewer. We had the boats pulled and started some repair and project work. No fishing for us at the moment.
Cold Front Should Get Bite Triggered
Post hurricane Nicole, the fishing has been very good with lots of trout, redfish and flounder being caught with the occasional snook mixed in. The best bite still remains on an 8th ounce jig with a Z-Man paddle tail in bad shad color or slim shady. With this cold front coming this week the fishing should really be turning on so get out and experience the late fall fight.
River fishing Indian & banana
Big trout have stacked up , redfdrum , black drum , tarpon , snooks , keeper mangroves bite is on fire ????
Still Jumping A Few Tarpon
The bite this past week was good to say the least. My clients were mostly targeting redfish and managed to jump a couple of tarpon in the mix.
Flats Coming Alive
Winter is almost here and the flats are coming alive! We have had one heck of a year, great fishing, mostly clean water, and even some grass growth throughout sections of the lagoon.
Peak Pompano Run Poised for Blast Off
Surf fishing this Space Coast has heated up as the weeks approaching the height of the pompano run near. Daily catches of black drum, pompano, jack crevalle, whiting and bluefish have headlined the majority of species.
Covering Water to Find Fish
With the remaining higher-water levels, off-colored water, and breezy conditions most days, this past week’s inshore trips left me covering multiple bodies of water to find fish.
Grass & Seaweed Clearing in the Surf
There has been a lot of grass and seaweed surf fishing over the last month. It is finally clearing, and the fish are showing up in full force. Fishing this month will only get better through the month of November as the water temperatures drop more fish will move in the area.
Snook Remain the Show’s Star
We’ve had a really good fall time bite along the Space Coast for the last two months. Snook have been the star of the show during most of these trips. This week we have a tropical feature that will impact our area for two to three days and this is probably going to change what we catch and where we are catching it.
Stick Marsh Stuck in Summer Pattern
The Stick Marsh is still in a somewhat summer pattern way of fishing as of last week. We threw top water first thing in the morning but all they were doing was swiping at our lures and not really eating them. We switched over to lipless crank baits and started to hook up fish. It’s funny how temperamental these fish can be on color choices.
Good Fishing, Considering…
We had a great ending to some bad weather. Captain Joe did great bottom fishing for triggers and lanes and Capt Tyler did great on the cobia for a few days.
Good Week for Snook and Jacks
It's been a good week of inshore and inlet fishing with plenty of snook and jacks. Any live bait worked well in the inlet on either incoming or outgoing tides. Inshore bite has been good with plenty of snook on both live bait and artificial along the mangroves and pompano on the flats and spoil islands on jigs!
