WEEKLY FORECAST
5.7.2019 – 5.13.2019
A CENTRAL FLORIDA FISHING FORECAST EVERY TUESDAY
The Central Florida Shootout is THIS weekend, which means one lucky angler is soon to bring home a brand new, completely decked-out, NauticStar Bay Boat valued at $60,000!
PEW PEW PEW!
Guns will be blazing this weekend as the Central Florida Shootout kicks off its 8th Annual Tournament with the Captains Party at Melbourne Auditorium on Friday at 5:30pm. There’s tons of raffles, food, beverages (including those of the adult variety), loads of vendors, and most importantly, Spacefish will be in the building, so be sure to stop by and say “hi!”
If you’re unfamiliar with the Shootout, here’s a few reasons why it is a uniquely awesome event: (1) The tournament has categories for both inshore and offshore fishing; (2) there’s weigh-ins on both ends of the county (North: Sunrise Marina, South: Capt. Hiram’s), and (3) coolest of all, the $50 tournament entry doubles as a grand prize raffle ticket in a drawing for a brand new $60,000 boat. The drawing is held a week after the fishing at Grills Riverside.
You may be thinking, “There’s just NO WAY I’ll win this bad ass boat,” and you may be right. BUT, interestingly enough, if you did win it, you wouldn’t be the first humble Spacefish reader to bring home the Shootout’s big prize. That would be last year’s winner, who is known to contribute fishing reports from time to time (it’s been a while, John, better step your game up!).
Fish the tournament this Saturday and you might win some cash, and you might even bring home a new boat. You never know unless you go, and you gotta be in it to win it, so get locked and loaded for the Shootout this weekend!

WEATHER OVERVIEW: We’re thick in the middle of tournament season and all eyes are on the weekend weather forecast. Nobody wants to fork out cash to get roughed-up and not catch any fish, after all. The weather cooperated last weekend for the Saltwater Classic and anglers slammed the scales. With any luck, conditions will setup similarly for the Shootout this Saturday. Currently, early indicators look promising for some good fishing!
