Decent Fishing Despite the Cold
Decent week of inshore fishing despite the colder weather. Plenty of trout still along with some snook, jacks and pompano.

I’m Capt. Glyn Austin, the owner and operator of Going Coastal Fishing Charters. I’m a central Florida native who was born and raised in the Melbourne and Palm Bay area. It’s here where my love for fishing was nurtured. Now, that passion is now my full time job.

Had a great week fishing the lagoon for trout, snook, jacks and pompano. Plenty of action most days all on artificial but a few of the snook ate live baits, as well.
Had a great holiday week fishing the lagoon. We caught plenty of trout, snook, pompano, bluefish and jacks on artificials. The spoil islands have been very consistent as well as the inlet and flats around the inlet.
We’ve had good action in the lagoon. Plenty of trout and a decent snook bite even though they are smaller fish. There are some redfish and black drum being caught in the inlet, shrimp and croakers have been the best baits. The flounder bite has been decent, as well.
Winter is in full swing as cold fronts have been colder than the last few years for late November/December. Water temps are in the mid to low 60s pretty steady which makes the snook fishing […]
This is the first cold week of fishing in a while. The bite changed but we still caught a lot of fish, mostly school trout along with a bunch of jacks, bluefish, mackerel and pompano. Soft plastics have been the key in the lagoon and fish areas with moving water.
Inshore and inlet fishing was good before the first real cold front of the year. We caught lots of trout as well as some snook, plenty of jacks and ladyfish to keep anglers busy. There were quite a few pompano caught as well and a few tripletail.
Another week of decent inshore fishing with plenty of trout and some smaller snook. Bite is still hot on soft plastics and some topwater action early. The snook have been around the mangroves with some slot size and smaller fish with some bigger fish around the spoil islands.
The winds won’t seem to let up but the fishing is pretty good. Plenty of snook in the inlet and along the shorelines from little tiny guys to slots.
Another week of windy conditions with some rain storms moving in from offshore. This week the bite slowed a bit but was still pretty decent. We spent the week throwing Skitterwalks and DOA Shad tails on jigheads for snook, trout, redfish and jacks.
