It seems as though our recent spring time weather here in the New Smyrna Beach area has gone to the wayside for upcoming week. Here in the Central Florida area we will be experiencing some much cooler conditions then this past week. This will only secure the winter time fishing pattern that they have been using this past week.

Look for the redfish and black drum to be holding over the shallows of Mosquito Lagoon as the trout and snook will be looking for the deeper waters of New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach waters. Small soft plastics along with live shrimp have been working well and extremely slow retrieves have been the key. The water clarity has been exceptional this past week and will only get better as the cool temperatures move in making for some great sight fishing.
