The fishing in the New Smyrna Beach waters this past week has been like the weather a little unstable. It had started out a little tuff with a windy cold front moving some fish around but as the week moved on so did the weather. With this steady forecast through next week the fish seem to be happy throughout the New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon waters. With the recent cool down the mullet have moved into deeper waters like the Intracoastal from Daytona Beach south through Titusville. The shrimp have been flowing pretty well especially with the recent full moon pushing these fish more to a shrimp bite. Look for the trout and snook holding in the deeper waters in and around the bait pods as the redfish and black drum can be found in the shallows searching out the crustaceans.
