Good morning, Sebastian Inlet fishing fanatics. I hope everyone had a good weekend despite the wind and rain. This report is going to be another abbreviated one, thanks in part to the weekend’s incessant, nasty weather which made conditions at the inlet very unforgiving. Not many folks out, and those that were, well, they got soaked by splashing seas or the drenching rains. Just a little reminder: the north jetty remains closed for repairs until further notice. Regarding fishing at the inlet, I’ll go back to mid-week last week before the conditions became unfishable. Wednesday and Thursday on both north and south side on the incoming there were scattered catches of small black drum, sheepshead, bluefish, small snook and a couple of spotted seatrout being caught, all on live shrimp, incoming tide. Outgoing tide was just too dirty on either side due to river runoff to fish. In the back of the inlet, t-dock and surrounding area was pretty quiet. For the boaters fishing out around the tip of the north jetty, incoming tide, the snook were playing pretty well. I saw several fish caught on Wednesday and Thursday, lots of keeper fish for the boaters. Live threadfins and croakers were the baits of choice.
Well folks, that’s all I have for you this week. Not much, but it is something to look forward to if you do go fishing. Winds and seas are expected to settle after Tuesday.
