The spillways are flowing on the Stick Marsh again this past week. This time we weren’t the only ones fishing it. Two other boats beat us there so boat positioning in the small area wasn’t the best for us. We managed 20 bass by 10am with the flow rate being fishable but after that time the generator kicked on for a few minutes and the water started to flow out of the spillway double the amount from the early morning time. Our trolling motor worked very hard on the Spot Lock position to keep us in our spot but the waters were too strong to fish by then and the bite shut off. Water temperature is in the low 80’s so I believe soon the bass will start to transition towards the shallower areas soon.
