I hope everyone enjoyed the “Spring Forward” feeling this weekend. Other than the high winds for fishing, the catching part was good. I hit Headwaters one day and the bite was kinda slow but with 20+ mph winds and some rain we managed to catch some bass. We drifted over shallow grass flats and found smaller size fish. There were plenty of empty beds in the area so even with the cold days we had the fish still spawned I believe. The next outing was on Garcia. The waters anywhere east of the Four Corners area were shallower and quite grassed up. We made a move a little more to the west and found slightly deeper clean waters to fish in. My friend and I managed to catch 15 bass but all under the 3-pound size throwing a small Wake Bait and burning it just under the surface. Even though it was windy, I believe it was helpful in the bites we got. Springtime is just getting started and the bite will get more exciting as we head into the early summer patterns.
