Had a really great week of fishing with some beautiful reds and some really large black drum being caught. It looks like we have two weeks of really cold weather which means you don’t have to start your fishing trip at the crack of dawn. You can start a little later in the morning and let that sun get up and start warming the water which will trigger the fish to start feeding.
This time of year, with colder temperatures try downsizing your baits, you don’t need the jumbo shrimp, either. You can use small to medium on an 1/8-ounce jig head. If you’re throwing artificial drop down to the 3 inch or even smaller paddle tales or shrimp imitations.
I have days available if you want to get out and experience the incredible winter fishing that Florida has to offer. You can reach me at 386-295-5991 or you can go right to my website to book your charter at www.fatfishguide.com
