Headwaters has still got me scratching my head trying to get a big bite on artificial. We worked a new area this past week and we did manage over 20 fish but nothing over the 3 pound size. Different lures managed to keep the bite going. Hard jerkbaits, squarebill lures and Gambler EZ Swimmer in the Copperfield color got bit. The topwater bite still hasn’t been what I expected. It’s only a short matter of time for it to blow up. Garcia waters are looking good but for me the bite has been somewhat FUNKY to say the least. I’m looking forward to the bluegill to start spawning to bring along my fly rod for some fun.

Good stuff Terry, I always enjoy seeing your reports! It’s been a while since I have been to Headwaters, but I’m stuck in a slump when it comes to bigger Bass. Everytime I have gone out over the last 3 weeks I have caught them in good numbers, but nothing above that 3ish pound range. I’m looking forward to a red hot top water bite too!
