John and his dad with John’s first snook.

Another windy week, but with the amount of rain we got, the water levels came up in the lagoon dramatically. There has been a lot of seaweed coming through the inlet the last few weeks as well. With the weeds coming in we are seeing a lot of small to medium sized tripletail on the crab trap buoys but the water has been silty and rough which makes it hard to spot the fish. The rain and front changed things up a bit as far as where we have been seeing bait and inconsistent weather has put a damper on the fishing. ‘

Despite the weather we have still been catching some smaller snook, plenty of trout, some pompano and plenty of jacks and bluefish. Later this week the winds should calm and weather should be getting more consistent bringing the bait in and getting things fired up.
