I only got out one day last week and it was on Headwaters Lake. Water temperatures are still below 90 but creeping up. We did manage 12 fish but mostly small in size. When we moved to our last spot before we gave up for the day, we went to this area that we’ve never fished before. I’ve always wondered, I’ve never seen anybody fish in this spot, which is odd for this lake and for how many people are fishing on it at this time of the day, it’s nothing but dragon worms on the bottom. I got a bite, nothing seemed different with the bite but when I set the hook, I knew it was a good fish. After a couple times burying in the grass, we got it into the boat. She weighed 6 lbs.10 ounces, which surprised both of us! We fished a little more but then headed in for the day.
