The north winds and tropical system we had this week has got the mullet moving. As of mid week last week are finally starting to see larger schools of bigger mullet loaded with sharks and tarpon. And talking with captains in South Carolina and Georgia, there’s a lot more that are staging up there and we should see plenty more. The bait started moving late week in the lagoon as well. It has been quiet the last several weeks but nearing last weekend the bait started moving down and out of places like snag and hog point.

That said, the bite has been off late week inshore most likely due to the massive amount of rain and fresh water in the lagoon. We still caught some slot snook and nice trout but it’s not as good as it should be this time of year. It should only get better over the next few weeks if the rains slow.

Weather still looks good to get out on the beach and as long as the bait keeps moving the action should be hot.
