Big Inshore Snook for Jason!

Inshore this week was on the agenda with the winds we have been having. Fished the lagoon and had a good time with a bunch of trout, some snook and a few slot reds in the mangroves. There’s plenty of mullet and glass minnows after last weeks rains and the water has been clean which makes it good for the sight fishermen. There’s a lot of laid up snook mixed in with the mullet and plenty of trout and ladyfish mixed in, as well. Clear water makes for a tough bite but if you’re quiet you should be able to get up on the fish and get some to eat. The other option is find out where the fish are laying and stay a long cast away so you don’t spook them trying to sight fish them. DOA jerk baits were the key for artificial baits and live finger mullet also worked well for us this week.

We are still waiting for some light winds so we can get out on the beach and chase the tarpon jacks and king mackerel that are roaming the beaches looking for the bait pods.
