bass fishing

Garcia is still fishing good for me. Finding clean water is the key to the bite. Monday, I changed it up and threw my fly rod before the wind started to blow. Offering a popper topwater pattern received no takes so I changed patterns to a subsurface streamer pattern and I started to catch fish right away.

Once the winds started up, I switched over to conventional tackle with a suspending jerk bait and kept the rod bent. The next day’s outing was much slower for the bites. Not sure why but by the morning’s end water temperatures were 86 degrees. I think as the summer heat continues, slowing down the presentations of what lure you choose might be the better choice. These fish will become sluggish and chasing down a bait won’t work for them.
