Beach fishing was good this week. Plenty of tarpon, sharks and jacks along the beaches. Inshore is decent, but it’s an early bite. Hot water and dirty conditions shut the bite inshore down early. Its our time of the year to catch decent numbers of redfish inshore as they follow the bait and with more bait around and the grass coming back, we should continue that trend of catching more reds this fall. Live baits work well but the redfish will eat paddle tails as well as jerk baits and top water early. The snook will be fired up early around bait pods and some islands that are holding bait. Find the bait and you should find plenty of action. If you plan to fish inshore, get out early before the temps heat up and you should have a good day.
