The fishing from Daytona Beach south through Mosquito Lagoon has been firing on all cylinders this past week. We have been boating great numbers of redfish, trout, snook and black drum. The snook, jacks and tarpon have been working the deeper shorelines through the backwaters. Plugs, soft plastics and live bait have all been working well to trigger a bite. The black drum, redfish and trout can also be found throughout area’s shallows. The drum have been working the shallow mud bottoms as the trout and redfish are mixed in with the bait super shallow on the grass flats. Plugs, spoons and soft plastics early in the morning have been working well. Moving over to live bait as the sun gets higher and the water warms has been working out well.

It looks as though we will continue to get our summer time afternoon showers moving into next week but the bite should continue to stay strong.
