mosquito lagoon red

The weather here in the New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach area has been a little challenging this past week. We have had gusty winds with constant onshore squalls making for some not so enjoyable conditions on the water. Tucking in and around the islands throughout Mosquito Lagoon has been the key when the conditions even allowed us to get out. The good news is it looks to be clearing out within the next few days which should make for a great bite throughout Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon waters. There will be an influx of water after a full moon tide and on shore wind so look for the bait and the fish to be holding on top of the bars and shallow flats. Live finger mullet and pinfish along with spoons, plugs and soft plastics will all work great to trigger a constant bite.
