With the recent cold temps it has been a little brutal on us Floridians that are not accustomed to below freezing for long periods of time. It looks as though the light at the end of the tunnel is arriving soon with temperatures rising near 70 for next week. The fishing in the New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon has been anything but cold with several double digit days this past week. The snook and trout have definitely dove deep looking for warmth as the redfish and black drum can still be found in the shallows looking for a meal. The sheep head have also really made an appearance on the flats as well along with the all the structure throughout the Daytona Beach waters. Very small baits have been the trick with very subtle movement. Both live and artificials have been working well.
