Fishing has been heating up with the weather. Big Snook and big trout action is getting decent and once these cold fronts disappear, the consistency will improve. Bait pods are more prevalent with the warmer temps and the snook and trout are mixed in. Live bait has been best for the snook, but artificial has worked well for the smaller fish and the trout are eating artificial as well. When the winds are down and in between the fronts we have been getting there have been big schools of spanish mackerel and plenty of blacktip sharks around along with some schools of jacks roaming the beaches. We’ve started seeing a few tarpon as well but the fronts have been relentless and the beach is still hit or miss between the fronts. Looks like a lot of wind early this week with it calming down towards the end of the week. Should have some action in the lagoon but beach fishing will have to wait for the weekend. Get out and find the schools of bait and clean water and you will have some good action.
