surf fishing report

The beaches have started to clear up from the grass and the fish are chewing. Early morning and evenings have been the best times, with good numbers of pompano being caught and large whiting. The bait of choice has been live sand fleas, and fresh shrimp along with Fish Bites in the sandflea and the blue crab flavor.

Also running the beach following the bait pods have been small to medium tarpon, redfish, and of course the sharks. The early morning top water and Gator spoons have been the way to go for them. Pack light and move around until you find the birds working or the bait pods and stay with them.
