This week has been all about tarpon fishing with light winds, warm waters, and lots of bait along the beach with and in the river. Tarpon have shown up in large numbers. Over the next two months the tarpon fishing will typically be some of the best East Central Florida has to offer. I have a few days available in July and a few at the end of August if you’d like to get that tarpon bucket list. On the beach, they’ve been eating pogies and live finger mullet. In the river, fish are averaging anywhere between 30 to 90 pounds. Along the beach, they are averaging between 60 to well over 100 pounds.
