The New Smyrna Beach waters have been very active this past week with some great fishing. The weather has been good and making for some great catching of several species like snook, redfish, trout and black drum. The shallow waters of Mosquito Lagoon have been just as good allowing for a wide range of fishing this past week. It looks as though we are starting to get into our summer time pattern as the temperatures start to heat up and bring the afternoon storms. As the water temperature begin to rise look for the bite to be a little better early and later evening. Live bait has been working well but they can be caught on artificial as well plugs and spoons have been doing the trick.
