The inshore and backwater fishing from Daytona Beach south through New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon has been as hot as the weather! We’ve been landing some beautiful trout and redfish, with a few snook in the mix as well.

We’re locked into the summertime pattern—hot days and afternoon showers expected throughout the week. The bite has been strong, and with the steady forecast ahead, we’re looking forward to more great action into next week!

🎣 Bait of Choice

  • Live bait: Pinfish, finger mullet, and shrimp
  • Artificial: Plugs, spoons, and soft plastics

🌿 Targeting Tips

  • Grass edges and bait pods have been producing well.
  • As the sun gets higher, we’re shifting our focus to tailing redfish in the shallows of Mosquito Lagoon and the backwaters of New Smyrna Beach.
  • These reds have been crawling through the grass and working along muddy shorelines – a great sight to see for any angler!

If you’re looking to get in on the action, now is a great time to book a trip!
