‘Morning everybody from the southern most fishing city! Another week has passed, and as we roll into the summer, the fishing is heating up.

Offshore, the dolphin bite has been really going. Watch for the birds, they will show you the way. The grass/weed lines have been pretty scattered, but the birds are always a reliable indicator of where to find the fish. Anything from the color change out to around 550 or so. If your deeper, look for packs of little birds and put one line with a little feather way back for tuna. Lots of blackfin and skippys are around.

Welcome, from the southernmost city. Fishing is on fire inshore, offshore and on the reef. Whatever your pleasure, be it filling the freezer or knocking that trophy fish off your list, there is a charter here for you in Key West!

This week in the keys… The weather finally has started to cooperate and all the big players are here!!! Everyone has shown up to play, inshore, offshore and on the reef.

Wind, wind, wind, lots of wind this past week. Key West has been for the hardy when it comes to fishing lately. But lots of guys still got off the dock. That’s one of the beautiful things about down here, we have such a diverse fishery that even if it’s blowing we can still get you out if your flexible on what you catch.

Another week of great weather down south. As we move into April the fishing is just getting hotter. Offshore there have been spotty reports of dolphin. One day is great with gaffers and a couple in the upper 30’s and the next is a long boat ride. So we’re real close for that to turn on!! Sailfish on the edge of the reef have been giving it up this week. Net some ballyhoo while your snapper fishing then set out a drift and open a sandwich. Not a bad way to finish off your day.

Tight lines and cold drinks, that’s the story of Key West fishing this past week. With spring break in full swing the fishing has been great! The gulf was the big hit this last week for Kings. Lots of guys were out back looking for the Spanish mackerel and Kings, there were fish caught up to 35-40lbs. I fished a couple smaller rock piles for the lane snapper, just keep a live ballyhoo on wire way back on top and you’ll get a couple big kings 🙂 I didn’t see lots of cobia but we did have our shots at a few.

Welcome from the island south of you. Capt Charles Donney with a little on what’s been happening in Key West. A couple of big yellowfins hooked last week got the gossip going on the dock. I believe they both broke off after a long battle. Both were hooked while live baiting blackfins over deep wrecks outside the reef (240-270 ft). Goes to show you never know what will swim up to your boat out there.
