My largest Snook landed this past weekend. He was just below the slot range. A fun catch on light tackle caught under the mangroves close to the water treatment plant, where the creek forks around a mangrove island. I noticed him blowing up a school of minnows so I threw a 2 inch swim bait under the branch the activity was happening and he hit it on the fall. I use a 6'6" foot spinning combo with 8 pound braid, and 12 pound leader to throw these tiny baits, and catching Snook and Tarpon this way can be a lot of fun.
