Turbo Charged at the Port

What an awesome week we had out of the Port. No Kings, but pretty much every other species you can think of; just stellar fishing AND catching. Just like the old days that put Canaveral on the map! Sails, Cobia, Blackfin, Groupa, AJs, and all the bottom fish. Now don’t get me wrong, we would’ve loved a great run of kings but with the previous week of winds water was dirty to 200 feet.

According to Capt. Joe, large bunker, which we like to call “Turbos,” have been in the port early. Like 4:30am early. They have really made the difference on catch’n verse fish’n. Check our FB out for all our recent photos so you know we aint lying!

Large baits on knocker rigs and 3 ways have been key with the bottom fish. Jigs have worked well, too, if you don’t mind burning a $7 hole in your pocket every time a sandbar shark passes — and yes, they are EVERYWHERE. Credit NOAA and whoever else creates the rules, which have helped ruin our industry. We’re now over-run with not just sandbar sharks, but red snapper, and Goliath grouper, too. Yet king limits have been increased; just wait til they are shut down, they’ll be eating our grunts on the way up. MORONS!
