The weather last week has heated up as well as the inshore fishing. While there’s been plenty of bait and game fish nearshore the seas have been a bit too rough to consistently get out and target them. Inshore has been tough fishing but this last week was a vast improvement over the rest of the winter. More baitfish has been around which gets the trout, snook, reds and other gamefish fired up and ready for their spring feed.
We have another mild front coming in this week but it’s gonna warm back up quick. A day or two after the front moves through fishing will slow for a day or two and pick back up as the weather warms up. DOA jerk baits and paddle tails have been very productive as the weather warms a bit the top water bite should be pretty good over the next few weeks.
